Weekly Wrap up!

 Reminders: There is a system wide PD day on Monday April 26th. There will be school for your students. See you on Tuesday and have a great weekend.  Language Arts: Students this week reviewed contractions, how two words become one. Students also practiced their opinion writing by expressing which R in the recycling loop they thought was the most important. Which R do you think is the most important? Reduce, Reuse, or Recycle? Mathematics: Room 2 continued to practice measuring the area and perimeter of objects through various activities. They designed their dream house, made a Minecraft selfie, played math games and scoot the room. All while determining the area and perimeter. Next week we will begin a math project! Words of the Week and Reminders

Just a few house keeping items. Thursday April 15th is wear pastel day. April 22nd is our last day for Hot Soup lunch.  Reminders about mask, please make sure your child is coming to school with one or two masks. Students are often forgetting or losing them. Our supply in the school is running low at the moment. Thank you!  Here are this weeks words of the week! We will be having our spelling test on April 23rd! 

Weekly Wrap Up!

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great spring break.  Here is what we have been learning this week.  Language Arts: Students this week worked on writing by writing a report on a classmates spring break. We also made connections between literacy and symbols. Students were to draw an artifact that represented family, where they were born or a piece of nature that they connected to. With those drawn artifacts, students will be representing what they drew into a poem. This poem will be tell their personal story of how they connect to our land. We have a few more chapters of Wonder left! Stay tuned for a wrap up project that summarizes the book.  Mathematics: We are continuing with measurement with a little bit of geometry! The grade 3's are learning how to measure the perimeter of a shape or space, and the grade 4's are learning how to measure the area of shape and space.
