Monday Sept. 28th

I just wanted to say thank you to all families for taking the time to chat with me on Thursday and Friday about your children. It was great getting to know you and your children a little bit more.

Just a reminder to families that no special and personal items from your kids are allowed at school. The reason for this is to reduce the spread of COVID within our cohorts.

I will be emailing out google classroom logins to parents within the next few days, so please be on the look out for that email. If you are isolating, please let the office or myself know, and I will post lessons/ learning materials for your children through google classroom.

Here are some things that we learned today!

Literacy- Ask me about prepositions!? And how these words relate to the nouns within a sentence. We also had a great day with literacy centers where students practiced their weekly spelling words (see list below), participated in writers workshop, built reading stamina, and started guided reading with me.

Please feel free to practice these spelling words with your children throughout the week. On Friday, we will be having a spelling test!

Math- We continue to learn and apply our pattern knowledge with numbers, but within function tables. Ask your child how what patterns they see and what the pattern rule is in these tables.

Social Studies- We continue to learn about Alberta Grasslands and today we observed and discussed climate and what a chinook is. Luckily enough we were able to see one at the end of the day!
