Monday October 13th
Hoping everyone had a great long weekend! Before we get into our learning for the day, just a few reminders.
Two letters were sent home today, one are some updates for our school and the other is about Hot Soup days. If you wish for your child to participate in Hot Soup days, please fill out and return that form before October 23rd. If a form is not filled out, then they will not receive soup.
Picture day is next Monday October 19th. These will be individual photos and no class photos will be taken at this time.
Now on to our learning!
Physical Education: Room 2 has earned the FIRST classroom up in P.E. We get to display the plaque in our classroom for the rest of the month of October! Congratulations to room 2, myself and Mr. Pivarnyik are very proud. Ask your child what they did to win the classroom cup!
Literacy: We continued to learn about different sentences, and today we focused on complex sentences! Student identified what parts of these sentences are the independent clauses, dependent clauses, the subordinating conjunction word, and where to place a comma. More learning and practicing for these sentences will be had tomorrow.
Math: On Friday October 16th, students will be completing a patterning challenge (test) on the material that we have learned so far. Today and up until the big day, students will be reviewing, practicing and applying what they have been learning.
Health: Today we started a unit on Social Conflict Resolution. To begin, we recognized different emotions we may feel and when we feel them.
