Thursday Nov. 19th!

Thank you for those who have booked a conference time with me. I really enjoy connecting with you.

Reminder that there is no school for your child tomorrow, due to parent teacher conferences. Have a fantastic weekend. Here is a weekly wrap up on our learning!

Language Arts: Here is some vocabulary and expressions we have learned this week from reading "The One and Only Ivan": amends, domain, intertwined, tactful, and patience. As a class, we have been focusing on what "the benefit of the doubt" means and how we can show that on a daily basis.

Mathematics: Today was the last day for the Outback Outlaw math detective. Ask your child who stole all the opal gemstones. We are wrapping up comparing numbers next week and then we are moving on to addition and subtraction!

Science: We tested the strength of connections this week. Which material makes a stronger connection? Marshmallows or plasticine? A gusset joint or an over lapping joint? Ask your child which connector is stronger.

Social Studies: We have one more round of our Alberta Regions research! Students have really improved their notes taking and research skills.

Health: Room 2 has been working hard on learning about conflict resolutions and using our "Peaceful Problem Solving" strategies. Earlier this week we played a role play board game call "Pause it and Resolve it" to help identify which strategy is best for certain situations.
