Weekly Wrap up!

Happy Friday!

Please note and disregard the letter sent home about weaving club, "Loom Room". Due to a high volume of interest,  we have decided to cancel the club and practice the art of weaving in our classroom during instructional time!

Here is what we have been learning this week!

Language Arts: All week students have been learning about and writing alliterations! Students were engaged with writing their poems and noticing how alliterations have rhythm. Take a seek peak at our animal alliterations!

Mathematics: This week, students have been learning about data and graphing. Room 2, learned about different types of graphs, creating data and interpreting data and graphs.

Science: To make further connections to wheels and axels, students this week made a mini vehicle! They were able to construct and observe how a wheel and axle work together to create a simple machine.

Social Studies: We are preparing our trip to India! Students are almost ready for our trip. Today, we learning about the Indian flag and its symbolism for this country.

Visual Arts: We started to make our looms for weaving. Weaving is one of the oldest surviving art forms and is connected in many ways through tapestries, clothing, to rugs. Weaving can be seen in countries such as India and Peru. Next week we will get to start to create our art and connect with  those traditions.
